This necklace is so unusual The centrepiece is early 20th century celluloid (the first plastics were inevented mid 1800s unbelievably!)and is i imagine Edwardian. It depicts what looks like a flamenco dancer in mid dance. The frame has a gold coloured trim and shell-like inserts giving the effect almost of a theatre box. It is woven onto a linen thread with various complementary vintage beads and trinkets, including a carved bone edelweiss (a symbol of devotion and loyalty ) This necklace is a complete one-off and incredibly romantic in style, and would make a gorgeous gift for a bride. It is 38 - 39 cms in length
